How can I help?

Whether you want to lead an activity or be an assistant, a committee member or a desk helper, your help makes a big difference in the lives of our future leaders! As little as one hour a week for six weeks is all it takes. Please visit our volunteers page if you would like to become involved in After-The-Bell.

If you are interested in providing financial support to the Kennett After-School Association, please visit our supporters page

What happens in inclement weather?

The After-The-Bell Program is cancelled if the Kennett Consolidated School District is closed or has cancelled all after-school activities. Cancelled days of After-The-Bell will NOT be made up.

Students will be informed during school by announcement if all after-school activities are cancelled for any reason.

Volunteers will receive a telephone call, email, or text as soon as the school district and/or After-The-Bell determine that the program will be cancelled.

Students, Parents, and Volunteers can also call the KCSD Transportation hotline at (610)444-7456 for up-to- date information on school closings or cancellation of after-school activities. The After-The-Bell office (610)268-5889 will also have a message regarding any program cancellations.

Those subscribing to Bottom of the Book bag can receive this information through their email system as well.

Who do I call if my child takes After-The-Bell bus transportation and is late getting home?

Please be aware that the After-The-Bell bus services are separate from the KCSD Transportation Department. Transportation delays sometimes occur at the beginning of a new school year or new ATB cycle as drivers adjust to newly devised routes and new students. After-The-Bell participants do not necessarily ride the same bus home from After-The-Bell that they do from the Kennett Middle School. After-The-Bell buses contain students from a wide variety of neighborhoods depending upon who signed up for that particular cycle. This may impact drive times.

Any ATB transportation questions/concerns will be handled by the Program Director. Please call the After-The-Bell office at (610)268-5889 or the ATB Emergency cell (484)365-3182. If you have an urgent transportation issue, you will be provided with an emergency telephone number.

Where can I find the After-The-Bell office?

The After-The-Bell office is located in room C106 of the Kennett Middle School building located at 195 Sunnydell Road, Landenberg, PA 19350.

Why didn’t my child get his/her first choice of activity?

The ATB staff members make every effort to provide students with their first choice of activity, however many factors impact the scheduling process such as:

  • Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
  • Each activity is limited depending upon the nature of the activity.
  • Many activities fill within the first 15 minutes of registration.
  • Turning in an incomplete form may cause students to miss the opportunity to be included in their desired activity.
What if my child submitted a completed registration form but did not receive an assignment letter?

Check with the After-The-Bell office in C106 or call (610)268-5889 if your child turned in a completed registration form and did not receive an assignment letter. Assignment letters are generally distributed to participating students the week following registration.

When is registration?

Information on registration dates can generally be found on the registration form, the ATB website, KMS Bottom of the Bookbag (email system), and on the KMS daily announcements.

How do I register my child for After-The-Bell?

Information on registration dates can generally be found on the registration form, the ATB website, KMS Bottom of the Bookbag (email system), and on the KMS daily announcements.

Registrations forms are available to students the week before registration begins. Registration forms are located on the ATB table outside the cafeteria. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Incomplete registration forms cannot be processed causing students to miss the opportunity to be included in their desired classes. Please complete all parts of the form including the registration page, the class activity selection page (with three choices selected), and the medical information page. Both parent/guardian and student must sign the completed registration and consent form and agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.

Please note that After-The-Bell is not part of the Kennett Consolidated School District, and therefore does not have access to school records, medical information, IEP plans, grades, etc. The medical, emergency, and contact information you provide on the registration form is the only information we have available when dealing with any issues that may arise during the program. Please feel free to call the Program Director (610)268-5889 to further discuss any specific needs, issues or medical concerns you may have regarding your child.

Registration forms must be signed by the parent/guardian and student. Students will not be accepted into the After-The-Bell program without a parent/guardian signature. Students may register for one, two, or all three days of a cycle. Students must select two activities each day from 3-4:00pm and from 4-5:00pm OR a double session from 3-5:00pm. Students must participate in the entire program from 3-5:00pm.

Students must list their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for activities. ATB staff members make every effort to provide students with their first choice of activity, however due to the volume of students involved in ATB that is not always possible.
